*facepalm*

Yesterday I copied all the syllabuses and assignment handouts for my Chaucer class. And just as I was putting the last stapled bunch of handouts on the pile, I noticed a glaring typo at the very top of the page, in the header, in bold for pete's sake.

D'oh!

This is what I get for being a medievalist who turns off her spell-check function (lest her spell-check lose its mind from all the Middle English).

Just tell 'em that's the Middle English spelling.

Oh, I know what you mean! On Monday morning I must correct the flip I made on class time versus office hours time on the first year class's course manuals or I will field at least two dozen queries along the lines of "I know the class is scheduled from 11:30-1 but on your outline it says 10-11:30".

And nobody you ask to proofread catches those type of mistakes!
